Join the Nature Trust staff and other keen birders for this citizen science activity. Each year, the National Audubon Society relies on birders across North America to go out during the month of December and collect data on the locations and numbers of birds of all kinds. YOU can participate in the 2009 Christmas Bird Count in Halifax! Date and time: Sunday, December 20th, at 9:00am sharp. Location: Purcell's Cove Conservation Lands, off of Purcell's Cove Road, in the community of Purcell's Cove. See this map, or call for directions. You can get there by bus (take the 15 Purcells Cove from the Mumford bus terminal). Duration and equipment needed: 3 hours of hiking along trails, please bring sturdy footwear, food and water, binoculars, and a clipboard or notebook (we will have forms for each birder to fill out).
