If in doubt, call the contact person listed for each field trip.<br \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>HFN Walks are free for members, guest leader(s) and members of partner organizations. \u00a0Each HFN member can bring one guest free of charge. \u00a0Children age 12 years and under may participate free of charge if accompanied by a responsible adult. \u00a0Non-members are required to donate $10 to HFN. \u00a0This charge will be waived if there is a separate charge involved (e.g., a site visitor&#8217;s fee), and will be applied towards the membership fee should the non-member decide to become a member within that membership year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our talks<\/strong> are given by both experts and interested amateurs. They provide an opportunity to learn what local scientists, volunteers, and HFN members are up to. Regular meetings with talks are held on the third Tuesday of every month except July and August at 7:30 PM in the auditorium of the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History, 1747 Summer Street, Halifax. Meetings are open to the public, however in the event of the room being filled up, members would be given priority.\u00a0 Use the entrance next to the parking lot. There is a charge for parking at the Museum; usually, two hours will be adequate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HFN Membership<\/strong>:\u00a0 Just a friendly reminder that HFN memberships\u00a0expire\u00a0at the end\u00a0of the calendar year.
