Scott Leslie has provided one answer. <\/p>\n<p>There has been no clearcutting of declared protected areas of course. Some private lands purchased by government to go into a protected area were partially clearcut before they were finally acquired, which  Protected Areas (section of Nova Scotia Environment) accepted as part of the price of acquiring the land.
