For this presentation, Kristen will be discussing howthey get introduced, how they spread and what we can do to prevent the<\/p>\n<p>introduction and reduce the spread! Kristen will be going over a few examples of invasive species that are particularly prevalent in Nova Scotia and HRM, including marine, freshwater and terrestrial species, including a disease caused by an invasive fungus.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Nova Scotia Invasive Species Council is a collaborative, volunteer-based group of individuals with a steering committee comprised of members from academia, government and non-government organizations. It is the provincial chapter of the Canadian Council onInvasive Species. Their goal is to raise awareness and promote a coordinated response to the threat of invasive species in Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation will be via Zoom.<br \/>\nYou have to register in advance for this meeting, by following this link:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/us02web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tZUvf-GoqTsuGte-9uPuOh26JWnlwVmG1F08\">https:\/\/us02web.zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tZUvf-GoqTsuGte-9uPuOh26JWnlwVmG1F08<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.That email will state that the Zoom meeting will start at 7pm (whichis correct).
