From EAC:
Join us for a joyful community parade on Earth Day, April 22, 2023! Let us all come together to celebrate Mother Earth, to celebrate water which is life and to celebrate our beautiful communities and our continued resistance for love, justice and life on this planet.
Date: Saturday, April 22, 2023 (Rain Date: Sunday, April 23, 2023)
Parade Start Time: 2:00 p.m.
Post-Parade Celebration: 3:00-5:00 p.m.
This is an invitation for all to come together and uplift our spirits: a parade of all our relations. Groups are invited to bring their creativity to represent their community in whatever way they are inspired to do so! We will be a crowd of elders and youth, drummers and artists, students and activists, puppets and costumes representing the more-than-human world.
The parade will begin at the Wave / Sackville Landing on the waterfront. We will open in ceremony with the Mi’kma’ki Water Walkers, who will then lead the parade down the waterfront. We will end at Peace & Friendship Park for a community gathering and celebration, including food, activities, and opportunities to connect with our community.
Here is our Route Map! You can come watch the parade from any point along the route.
- Please bring your own lawn chair if you are able to.
- Please bring your own travel mug or water bottle if you can.
- Please consider wearing a face mask when it is crowded.
For all accessibility information, please see our Access Guide.
